something large

If you look in the records there is a lot of controversy over which snake holds the world's record for massive size. The dimensions that have earned the anaconda the title of king is its total body mass or its weight (the sheer physical bulk of it). The other snake that competes with the anaconda is the Asiatic Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus). The python holds the world's record for length of a snake, with the longest ever measured at 33 feet. Even though the longest python is longer than the record-holding anaconda, the girth of the anaconda is far bigger. Anacondas in the jungles of South America can grow as big around as a grown man!

good news

An 11-year-old Philadelphia girl watched as her mother was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, according to police.

Angela Jeffreys was attacked as she was about to take her daughter to school.
After shooting Angela Jeffreys, Aleem Ali turned the gun on himself and took his own life, police said. Jeffreys, 34, was attacked as she sat in her car getting ready to take her daughter to school Monday morning.
According to witnesses, Ali, 45, already had staked out the surrounding area and blocked her car with his so she couldn’t pull out, reports local television station WPVI-TV. He then got out of his car and shot her. When Jefferys tried to get out of the vehicle through the passenger’s side, Ali walked around and shot her again, police say. The child was not hurt in the shootings.
At one point, Jeffreys worked at the city’s Department of Human Services with Ali and Ali’s wife, Kimberly. Investigators say Ali was having an affair with Jeffreys and that all parties knew about each other.
"Even though people knew, they would deny it," a DHS co-worker told The Philadelphia Inquirer. "Nobody can really describe their relationship because it was a secret."
Police were called to Jeffreys’ residence last weekend because of an argument between the couple. Ali had left by the time police arrived, and Jeffreys did not take out a restraining order, Homicide Capt. James Clark told the Inquirer.
Jeffreys most recently worked as a court clerk for the Criminal Justice Center. One judge who worked with her described her upbeat personality.
“Every single day, she would joke with [me]," Common Pleas Judge Rose Marie DeFino-Nastasi told the paper. "She really had a great sense of humor. We're all very sad."
Jeffreys had two other children besides the 11-year-old who witnessed the tragedy

NEWS

In Washington, D.C., where the football rivalry between the hometown Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys runs deep, a motorist socked a man in the face for snatching a Cowboys flag from his car, reports The Washington Post.
The incident occurred during the evening rush hour earlier this week in an upscale section of the city.
According to police, a man went up to the car, took the flag, threw it to the ground then proceeded to cross the street. When he got across, someone got out of the vehicle and punched him in the face, the police official said.
One witness told the Post that after the motorist hit the man, he walked away, picked up something from the ground – perhaps the flag – and drove off.
After he was hit, the victim fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. “He was out for a good five minutes or so,” the witness said. Police say the man was treated for a bruised forehead.
“It’s crazy. It’s doesn’t make sense,” Lt. Eric Hayes told the paper. The attacker could have been a zealous fan, or just upset that someone touched his car, Hayes said.

somthing new

Pirates have vowed to retaliate for deaths of their colleagues_ and the top U.S. military officer said Tuesday he takes those comments seriously. But Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told ABC's "Good Morning America" that "we're very well prepared to deal with anything like that."
Still, despite Mullen's confident statement and President Barack Obama's warning Monday, pirates captured two more nautical trophies Tuesday to match the two ships they seized a day or two earlier.
NATO spokeswoman Shona Lowe said the MV Sea Horse, a Lebanese-owned cargo ship, was attacked and captured Tuesday by pirates in three or four speedboats. She had no further information.
That hijacking came only hours after the Greek-managed MV Irene E.M. was seized in a rare overnight attack by pirates.

Milk - Something Very Bad Has HappenedAnd We May Never Learn The Truth From The FDABy Robert Cohen notmilk@earthlink.net1-23-4
Something Very Bad Has Happened and we may never learn the truth from FDA.

I often see the clues, hear the rumors, and examine the facts long before newspapers get the first inkling of a story. My advice for you today is sell Monsanto stock short.

Good news for consumers is bad news for Monsanto.

Very shortly, perhaps in just a few weeks, cows sent to slaughter will have to be separated into two lines--those treated with the genetically engineered bovine growth hormone and those not receiving injections of Posilac. USDA will mandate this because of some very serious news.

The first rumors came out of the state of Kentucky on Monday. Representatives of dairy co-ops have been telling dairy farmers that cows treated with Posilac have been developing bone cancers. I have received this news from a very good authority, although I am not at liberty to reveal my source. Let's call him Mr. W.M.

What could be worse? I have a copy of a letter that Monsanto mailed to its dairy farmer customers on December 19, 2003. On that date, Monsanto shocked farmers by alerting them to the fact that Posilac would be in limited supply until:

"Conditions and improvements in manufacturing are made..."

Monsanto is accepting no new customers, and anticipated their "shortfall" to last for "several months."

I have just learned (another rumor) that Florida farmers are being warned that Monsanto will cut back Posilac distribution to 50% or less on or about March 1, 2004.

All of genetic engineering and biotechnology was based upon the safety of Posilac. We naive Americans have been part of an experiment, and are learning that Posilac may have compromised the safety of rbST-treated cows and humans who consume hormone-rich body fluids from these cows.

Ex-Surgeon General C. Everett Koop was hired by Monsanto to tell Americans on February 6, 1994:

"Milk from cows given supplemental bovine somatotropin is the same as any other milk...Unfortunately, a few fringe groups are using misleading statements and blatant falsehoods as part of a long-running campaign to scare consumers about a perfectly safe food."

The following day, Monsanto scientist Bernard Violand submitted a paper to the Journal of Protein Science admitting that Posilac contained many different "freak amino acids." That paper was stamped "received" by the journal on Thursday, February 10, 1994, and published on July 6, 1994.

Monsanto fixed the errors. FDA now knows of those mistakes because my whistle broke windows. During the process of developing a new technology to filter out those freak amino acids, Monsanto never alerted FDA as to the nature of their error. Had they done so, such honesty would have cost Monsanto over $500 million. Monsanto should have repeated the research because every scientific paper submitted to FDA was performed on animals with a different formula than the one currently on the market.

Monsanto's actions are criminal. So are FDA's. We know the perps. Look at your kids. Look at your friends and relatives. They are the victims.

I POSTED THIS ARTICLE BECAUSE I FOUND IT INTERSESTING
April 1, 2009 – President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama began their eight day, five country trip to Europe Tuesday and it looks like the schedule is jammed packed.

The president’s trip will focus on two important meetings: the G-20, where the world’s economic powers will come together and the NATO summit. But those two highlights are just part of their VIP schedule while over the pond.
Today will begin with a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, separate meetings with Russian and Chinese leaders and meetings with several European leaders to discuss the war in Iraq.
The day will end with the president and first lady’s private audience with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. This alone will mark his trip as “historic” and place a page in history books around the world.
The president left the country with some good news from a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Tuesday. It seems his approval rating is still pretty good: 66 percent of the folks polled said they approve of the way Obama is handling the job of commander-in-chief and 66 percent said they approve of the way he’s handling the economy.
Michelle Obama also faired really well with the American people according to this poll; she received her highest favorable rating yet at 76 percent.
The president is expected to receive a warm and enthusiastic welcome in Europe – in part because of early key policy decisions by his administration. Since taking office he’s addressed global warming, promised to close Guantanamo Bay, and laid out plans of ending the war in Iraq; all reversals of President Bush’s policies.
